Most of my adult life I’ve been fat, it’s not fun! Looking back at my children growing up I’m never in the pictures, always behind the camera. The only memories I have is a head shot with my pie face occasionally showing, not my body, quite sad really! However spoiler alert I’m now living life, now in the photos and staring in the videos so basically thanks to Professor Senapati and his team I have my life back!

I initially booked to have the sleeve abroad but after some friends went and had a dreadful experience I decided to have it done here, my wonderful dad actually paid so I could have it safely here in the UK.

As it was all already planned for a particular date due to work and childcare commitments it needed to be the same time. From the moment I contacted his secretary and explained my requirements I felt in good hands and was promptly booked in for a consultation and then the procedure soon after.

The staff at the Alex were all wonderful with me. I was a little emotional afterwards and they were all wonderful with me.

In 8months I’ve lost almost 7 stone. Gone from a size 22/24 to a 14/16. I don’t hate myself anymore – I can’t tell you how invigorating that feels I can chase round after my kids and do all the things that normal people can do. It’s hard to believe all the things that were difficult to do before I can now do with ease.

It’s been a wonderful experience finding myself again both enjoying self-care and clothes shopping!

If you are looking to have bariatric surgery you’d be in good hands with Professor Senapati. You get two years after care and they also liaise with your GP for the relevant medication you’ll be on afterwards, something that’s not as easy if you do go abroad.

I’m really pleased i had it done here and not abroad, I felt pretty ropey after the procedure (very normal) but if I was abroad feeling so grim faced with a language barrier I’d have been very frightened!
