I had a gastric bypass performed by Professor Senapati in January 2021. Since the operation the transformation in my life has been very dramatic.

I was 26 stone 7 lb when my journey began, my BMI was 46.6 and my waist measurement was over 50 inches. I struggled with my breathing, being an asthmatic, even simple things like walking up the stairs. My snoring was so severe my wife had to wear ear plugs, it impacted both of our sleep.

I am now just over 12 months post operation and I currently weigh just 14 stone 3 lb, meaning I have lost, in total, 12 stone 4 lb. My BMI is now a very healthy 25, losing 21 points that. I’m now wearing 34 inch waist trousers losing over 16 inches from my waist alone. My asthma symptoms have all but disappeared and I do not snore at all anymore.

To say I am happy with the results I have achieved is a massive understatement, although the journey has been long and really hard work the benefits are fantastic. The support from the team is 2nd to none, from the physios, to the nurses, the dieticians and the Prof himself. 1st class! The only regret I have is waiting so long to go ahead with this.
